Abstract:
When the beam of a laser pointer hits a rough wall or a record, a seemingly chaotic light pattern of light and dark speckled spots is created. With these so-called laser speckles, we develop a method with which the structure of surfaces can be determined. We are developing a process that enables non-destructive material analysis and quality assurance.
